The Purpose and the Plan….

The reason for this blog to chronicle our journey. Journey to what you make ask? We are a family of 6 (7 a few days a week) who God has laid on their hearts to take control of their finances, no matter how small and to be better steward. Not only that we are deeply committed to living a more fulfilling, positive and meaningful life.

“How?” That is the question many people have already begun to ask us. Well, we aren’t sure but we know that in order to move forward , even in failure, we have to try. So here are the things we are working on….

1. Feed our family healthy meals for $60 a week. *

2. Simplify our lives by decluttering our home.

3. Add more organization and routine to our lives.

While these are lofty goals we know that all things are possible through Jesus Christ. Follow us while we go on this great adventure!

(* Our meals are typical of most middle to lower income families in America. Tons of carbs, lots of fat and very little veggies. While the new meals may not seem extremely healthy to someone who eat organic & vegan, the will be heads and tails above what we currently eat. Baby steps.)

I can’t wait to see more. As a family of 5, we easily spend $140 a week on groceries if not more. (This does include paper products, pool supplies, grill supplies, etc..) I would LOVE to be able to trim that budget even by 10%.
